Default Can I get some help with loop mappings please?

Ok, so how I've been working with loops is to have either; loops already set up on a track and when that track is loaded I hit the active button which I have mapped to my controller, and obviously that then loops the track once it gets to that loop point. I then hit "active" to turn the loop mode off.
The other way is to have the loop "in" and "out" buttons mapped to my controller and manually make a loop on the fly, then again hit "active" to turn the loop off.
I now want to work with auto looping and add the mapping to my controller, so that when I hit a button it automatically makes say a 4 bar loop. What I would like, if possible, is to be able to hit that same button again and have it halve the length of the loop every time I push it. What I would also like is to have along side that button, one that when it is pushed, again it makes say a 4 bar loop but if I push it again it doubles the length of the loop every time it is pushed. In order to get out of the loop I would like to use the existing "active" button. So basically I can make a loop and adjust the length to be longer or shorter with the same 2 buttons. If somebody could talk me through what I need to set up in the controller manager to achieve this I'd be most appreciative. I have looked in the manual but they explain in a way I can't really get my head round.
Another button I would like to map is a "go back to last loop" button, if there is such a thing. So say I have a track looping with a loop I made on the fly, then I turn the loop off, if I decide to go back into that same loop later on in the track is there a way to hit one button that will make it jump back to the last loop and have it activated?

Thanks in advance for any help

i'd rather choose one button for setting a loop:loop/cue set; loop length direct (4/8/... whatever) and then just set the two other buttons to: loop leght dec/inc
otherwise you could use a modifier, as long as your loop is active, that uses your legth inc/dec buttons as you wish.

i thought traktor pro sees the last loop also as a cue point, so choose cue play and loop active as a makro button

hope you can work it out!

    - Button X (wich would be your modifier so when it's held its value is 1)
    - Button A (that will engage your 4beat loop)
    - Button B (that would inc(x2)/dec(/2) your loop) we would assume this button 'naturally' divides the loop and if you're holding your modifier it would double its size)

    *add in/ Modifier/ Modifier#/learn button X/type button interaction mode hold/ set to value 1
*add In/ Cue-loops/ Loop size+set/ learn button A/Button -Direct/set to value 4/ asign to your deck or to the device target
    * add in/cue -loops/ loop size/learn button B/ Modifier#=0/ button interaction mode 'dec'/assign to your deck or device target
    * add in/cue loops/ loop size/ learn button B/ Modifier#=1/ button interaction mode 'inc'/ assign to deck or device target
Did I miss something? you may double check, don't have Traktor in front of me.

I wouldn't either use the same button for inc/dec but if that's what you like that's perfectly fine.
Just a precision, by using the above you'll change the size of your loop by the loop out point. You could want to do the same but by using the loop in point: imagine you engage a 4 beat loop just before your song would take off after a break, if you use the above, you'll probably shorten your loop (ie if you double the size you'll grab with it the 'take off' and the following beats), then release it meaning you would replay those 4 beats.
However if you're using the loop in point in the same situation(4 beat loop active just before 'take off') it would allow you to double the size of your loop (backwards in your track) or shorten it close to the take off so when you release it, it would take over just from the start of the take off without replaying the 4 beats. It's just a matter of preferences. But that's a total different mapping. Personnaly speaking I have both options mapped.

As a side note, to all buttons that use/modify loops, I add functions that change the view to move mode (loop/loop in or loop out depending what I'm using) and may activate loop mode function.

You can't go back to 'last loop' as said like this, you can cup play, go to previous cue, use hotcues but all have different uses and contexts: ie if you use a hotcue between the time you engaged your loop (if it is not an hotcue) and the moment you want to go back to it, if you use cup play you'll go to that hotcue, not your loop.
The easiest way is to have your loop already set up as a hotcue (or even created on the fly with your loop).

Hope it helps (hope I was clear enough). If you need further help just tell.

Thanks for the help guys, I have been on Traktor all day experimenting with mapping things. When I get back on it tomorrow I will try these methods out.

    Thanks again
