I haven't got one yet, but have you done your updates in service center? Think I'm right in thinking the drivers are in there for the X1

Yep, got the lastest driver from the service center. Not working.

I know its geeky but I'm upset that its sitting here and I can't use it yet!

tom, theres a mod stating some stuff you should try on your thread you started over on NI forums.

He's a smart kiddy and will probably help you fault find the device to see if you can get it working.

yea... i had this same problem running traktor pro 1.2.1. but once i upgraded to 1.2.4, everything works perfect with the kx1

you need to download the service center app at the native instruments website to get all the official updates to your hardware drivers and software

otherwise, a mouse told me that there's a 1.2.4 version floating around the interwebz. if you were interested in something like that, just ask google.

Hey guys, thanks for the tips. got the X1 working with 1.2.4 and felt a bit stoopid when i did but hey, at least it worked. The reason why it didnt is because I still had Traktor 1.2.1 in my dock on the mac - soon as i got rid of that it came on fine

my favourite button on the x1 would be the browse button if it didnt always jump 2 tracks at a time... I don't just want to be able to just load every second track into browsers!!!

I actually miss my Xone a lot now. It was a nice bit of kit. The effex mapping was so logical when i did it myself...

you need to re-calibrate it then. Go into your settings and under the Kontrol X1 tab you can restore the controller and re-calibrate it. I had the same problem when i added my second Kontrol X1 and the re-calibrate worked for me. Another thing i did was opt out the master, quantize and snap buttons that you have access to when you shift. I changed them to be FX units 3 and 4 so that i can use all four units on each of the four decks. Also, you can map the key and filter knobs to the shift parameter knobs which is great if you don't trust your mixer's on board filters ( or if your mixer doesn't have filter). Mapping the key though is great if you like to use the "Synth" effect that was demonstrated by Ean in the promotional videos issued by Native. Don't forget that you are working with two different forms of midi and each form allows for two pages of mapping. Meaning that you can map out two more pages over the existing presets when you press shift and hotcue. The green light turns on in the hotcue which means you are now in standard midi mode and can use the control editor software to start programming two more pages to that mode ( one page being normal and the other shift, just like you have when you are not in midi mode). I used the Xone 1d and loved it. I had to bight my lip though when i bought the kontrol x1 because i had just purchased the xone. So though the 1d is a great tool, the kontrol x1 provides a huge bang for the buck, way more than you get with the 1d.
