VCI-100 Platter note off problem

Hi, this is rather strange. I have googled for weeks but I cannot find a solution to my problem. When I use the right platter of my VCI-100 in vinyl mode, when I turn the platter with my fingers on the touch sensitive pad, the controller sends a note off signal regularly making scratching impossible on my right platter. Pressing the vinyl button to turn it off on the other hand does not have this issue, a note off is only sent when I release the platter.

Does anyone know of this issue? I have a black VCI-100 which is only a few months old (none SE version, I have ordered the firmware kit though which should hopefully be sent soon).

I take it no one has heard of this then, I emailed the Vestax UK supplier but I haven't had a reply yet
