    Default DJTT album?

Here's a potentially dumb idea: given the fact that many of us are producers as well as DJs, why don't we, as a community, put together a collection of of original tunes and "release" it as a CD?

I guess what we would have to do is create a list of songs that people would want to put on it, and then everyone could vote (though some process) as to which ones would make the cut.

    Just a thought.

And here is the most up-to-date list of contributors and (eventually) links to the tracks:

    01. Sarasin
    02. Gudowski [Electro House] - Pure Substance
    03. DjHipnotikk [Dubstep] - Keep it Trill
    04. Me [Dubstep] - Memory Holes Revibe
    05. Tekki [DnB] - Man of Constant Junglism
    06. Str8upDrew [Electro] - Making Up For Lost Time
    07. Villinus [Electro/Deep House] - Ĉolus
    08. Grazz16 [Electro/Prog House] - Smiling Buddha
    09. Djmaxone [Mashup/Hip House] - From the Soul
    10. Discob81 [Tech House] - Circles
    11. Mike_o [Breakbeat] - Breakin' The Classics
    12. Betatron [Dubstep]
    13. Tigerstyle [Funky House] - Little Ghost 2010 edit

With so many different styles i think if we were to do such a thing we would have to pick a genre then focus on that - then change genre for another release to give other people a go.

Id certainly put something together if people wanted to do a dnb release

although, it would probably be even more difficult, and convoluted, I think it would be really cool to collect a pool tracks, and then make a 2 disc mix, maybe even back 2 back with a ton of djtt contributers. WOuld be sick... but really impractical, and would probably never happen.

    Hello,

I can give something from my studio too Mainly house subgenres, nothing from comercial shit. Simply underground stuff. Some downtempo, ambient, dubstep, tribal house, progressive house, etc.

    oh yeah but this too.

i think our 4 big genres here are: dnb, electro house, dubstep, and psytrance. theoretically a mix of all of these could be done pretty easily.

    electro house (128-130ish) -> dubstep (135-140ish) -> psytrance (140s?) -> dnb (high 150s-up)

I like the idea of having the songs mixed. Maybe though, for the sake of practicality, we could have one person do the mixing (or two if it's a two-disc release, one person per disc).

Maybe then we could also agree on two genres of music, also one for each disc?

PS. I'm glad you guys liked this idea. I was a little afraid at first that it was just gonna tank.

The bad thing about mix cd's is that we as dj's cant mix with them, i thought the whole idea of doing this is so we could play these tunes out. The main audience would be DJ's, so a non-dj mix cd is more desirable (in my eyes anyway).

Perhaps one cd is a mix cd of all the tunes while the other is the individual songs ?

    True.

And if the cd wasn't mixed we could use a variety of styles.

Edit: and just as and afterthought... if we didn't mix the cd, anyone who wanted to could mix it...
