Speaker Setup

Hey guys I just picked a numark DJIO and was looking into a decent speaker setup for both bedroom djing and possibly later on ome house parties anyone have any suggestions as to a good setup and brand? Thanks alot cheers.

Depends what you're looking for. While it may be more unconventional, I went with a 5.1 logitech z-5500 surround sound system for my bedroom/house parties (obv not when i do a club) I like it because I get a movie theatre quality (THX certified) system for watching movies at home, and it also converts into a kickass sounding set of DJ speakers. Just my 2 cents and I know a lot of you will disagree

whats your price range bro? how big is your room? do you have roommate your dont want to disturb?

there are a few ways to go... check out kijiji for stereo equipment in your area, look at overstock and grab some floor standing speakers and a mid level receiver, goto cheapdjgear.us and check out their speaker section (you may also need a amp/receiver to go along with most of these, I have ordered through them before and there shipping is quick!), or go grab a 2.1 shelf system...

Thanks alot guys for all the help I think what I may do is along the lines of JWit suggestion and get a surround sound system if for the only fact that I can get it past the wife without her going nuts about me buying more stupid computer stuff for my stupid hobbies ehh what ya gonna due thanks alot for all the advice Ima head on over to cheapdjgear thou and check em out thanks

hahaha, I feel you bartboy, took a while for my wife to get over my purchase (she still gives me a hard time, but worth it), although I have to admit that I underestimated the speaker size and volume of the ones I got. I just picked up a set of M-Audio bx8a deluxes and I love them, although she is always telling me to turn it down, hahahaha!
