VCI Crossfader Curve
My first post in this forum!
Didn't seem to find any info on this, so i decided to become a member and ask here instead.
I'm currently in a decision-agony in choosing between buying an ableton live-dedicated controller (apc 40) or a traktor one (vci-100), and the main thing I miss in traktor as opposed to Live is the dipped crossfader curve. I have read that VCI emulates crossfader curves but does it lower the output volume in the 0 cf position when it is set to the X mode on the back?

I'm pretty sure the VCI is always using a single curve, and going from full volume of both tracks at center to an instant cut at the other extreme. You could however, use a program like Bomes and re-create a dipped curve by translating the midi. That or route Traktor into Live and continue to use Live's xfader curves.
MacBook 2.4GHz, 6GB, Traktor Pro, Ableton Live, Bomes MT, Audio Kontrol 1, Vestax VCI-100 SE Custom, M-Audio Axiom 25, Akai APC40, NI Maschine, 2x Midi Fighters (c/o DJ TechTools - Thanks!!)

Theres a knob on the back of the unit to edit the x-fader curve, there is also an option in Traktor (atleast Traktor 3 i forget about Traktor Pro) to edit the xfade curve. from memory the middle position extreme and middle positions always remains the same no matter what settings you have on the VCI-100 or in Traktor.

Found a (temporary?) workaround on this.
I mapped a lot of things to the crossfader basically. First off, a modifier that is mapped to a fader set to relative at 23% sensitivity and 0% acceleration. That made the modifier go from 0-7 while i moved the crossfader from left to right.
Then I mapped two "Buttons" to the cf, which were controlled by the modifier at 0 (for left) and 7 (right). They would set the volume to 1.000.
At last, two relative faders (one inverted) that controlled deck A and B separately (appr. 20% sensitivity and 100% acceleration).
This did the trick, but it does not feel as "sturdy" as the live crossfader. Looks cool though with multiple faders moving!

did you ever manage to find a decent fix for this?
its driving me up the wall!

no. i converted to ableton live, and found out its so much better for my style of playing.

can you still use the VCI 100 with albeton?
i've never thought about using albeton, but this cross fader is really winding me up!
what about serato?

*Bump*
did anyone manage to solve this volume issue?
If so could you tell me how to adapt my TSI
otherwise any other help would be greatly appreciated!
i'm sure there must be some way to get traktor to do it!
At the minute its like "B" here, but i'd prefer "A" which doesn't put the volumes one on top of another.

i'd like a dipped or intermediate curve like shown below.
