Default How many LED's do I need?

    Looking at this article

    http://www.djtechtools.com/2009/08/3...-a-button-led/

    Its says:
3mm LEDS-I bought mine from ebay ($6 for 100 leds) and you can choose how many of each color you want. I went with 40 x Blue, 40 x White, and 20 x Red
I don't really need 100 LED's do I? I ordered my VCI-100 yesterday along with eight arcade buttons and was going to just go to Radio Shack today to get diodes and LED's, but if I need 100 of them I'm going to rethink the whole led thing. That's a lot of soldering!!

I'm going red, white, and blue and may have a trick or two up my sleeve for the modding . We'll see if any of my crazy ideas actually work though.

Try one led first and see it it works, since de-soldering leds on the board is very delicate work. Pulling the led if the solder on both legs are not hot enough (or too hot) may cause the printed circuit board (or track I call it) to come off. This will affect other leds on the board since they all share the same voltage side.

Also, Vestax used leds with very thin legs. Leds that you buy elsewhere have thicker lags and don't fit in the board's smaller diameter ones.

I had to fix 'a few tracks myself and ended up modding only the headphone leds and the scratch leds. It took way too much time for me anyway..

    Good luck!
