    http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/pro...oducts_id=9182 does anyone know if i could wire something like this up to two fader connections on a midi brain?

    You would wire it to 4 I/Os for a total of 8 with direct wiring, or you could multiplex it.
    Like so, where the top 8 represent each switch on the joystick.

    Simple answer is no. This joystick is really just 4 push buttons, so you could wire it to 4 digital ins though.

    yeah it won't work it would need to be wired to a 5v i have just bee learing about connecting fader's to the umc32. here's KG's explanation -
    "There's no pictures or datasheets to tell for sure but just find the 2
    connectors on the pot where the resistance does not change when you
    move the pot (use a multimeter to check). Those 2 points will be your
    Ground and +5v connections (swapping these makes no difference as you
    can just turn the fader upside down). To find the output connect one
    end of your meter to Ground, and poke around for a point that changes
    when you move the pot.
