Default Building a Midi Controller Advice

Anyon got any starting points for a newbie on this?

I'm looking to ideally build something similar in functionality to the Novation Launchpad, APC40 etc. My plan is to use Ableton Live with a VCI 100 and the midi controller, using the VCI for normal DJ functions and the midi controller to cue and play clips etc.

    Cheers,

Interesting. Seems a bit pricey though, as the Launchpad costs not much more in the UK.

Also, the parts list on there seems to direct to US shops and shipping is a fortune to the UK. Any ideas for the UK or anyone in the UK built one of these?

If you just want buttons and led i think it would be better to buy something like launchpad. DIY are for more customized controllers and can get pretty expensesive.

Well launchpad is based on monome/arduinome apc40... if you want to make something similar but lower price... mmm it is no really possible.

Launchpad has a really good price.
