    Default Native Instruments Maschine

    Hey guys & gals...

Ordered myself the Maschine from NI yesterday, should arrive in the first day or two of next week...

Wanted to see if any of you have already picked one up and what some of your favorite attributes are...Seems like a great piece of equipment for beat production...

As of right now I'm not planning on using it much for DJ sets, but I'll remain open to the possibility as I learn it!

I've been saving my pennies. Please let me know how you like it. I think this is going to be my next big purchase

Just take you're time with it and work it into your production process . I had to take my time and really work into my Ableton work flow . 1.5 makes it a whole lot more flexible with host programs like Ableton or Logic as I can finally just drag and drop grooves or sequences from Maschine to my host program as midi or audio . I highly recommend checking out as many tutorial videos of Maschine as you can so you can start to really see what it can do .

@bartboy I'll keep you posted when I get it! I'm feeling pretty confident in my decision to pick it up...

@darrel855 I was hesitant to buy it before the 1.5 update, I'm glad to see they smoothed things over a bit for integration with other programs...right now I don't have Ableton, but it's probably going to be a future investment...I have been doing quite a bit of research on it, and checking out some videos, like I told bartboy, I'm feeling pretty confident that with practice I can put it to good use...thanks for the recommendation!

The encoders don't function as endless encoders in midi mode. They function as knobs.

That severely limited my use of the Maschine controller with Traktor. I was very disappointed at that.

What the hell is the point of having encoders if they just work as knobs? It causes endless frustration due to the software parameters "snapping" to wherever the "knob" was last set.

I wouldn't recommend using the maschine controller for anything besides maschine... I've had it for a year and modding it to do anything else really isn't worth the effort IMHO.

I've seen it mapped to Traktor before I know Carl Cox uses Maschine and only Maschine to do his live sets I think it's all in how you map it. As it is with any controller it has very few limitations besides touch sensitive jog wheels which I don't have as it is so I'm not losing much. I really wish I could rent one for a week or knew someone in my area that had one. I don't know any DJ's in the Rhode Island/S. Mass area

I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying it's really not worth the effort because switching between different control layers is a pain in live situations...

If it was a month ago I would have lent it to you or even sold it to you since I study in RI but now I'm out of the country. It's ok for tractor. Not the best definitely. I may be selling mine when I return to RI, should I keep you posted?

It's full version btw not academic.
