Cheap VCI-100 Stand DIY
Hello all,
Anyone with a spare piece of sheet metal of any kind can fashin themselves a decent VCI-100 stand. I built one and I would like to share the pictures with everyone. It is very sturdy, and places the angle of the vci in a much more comfortable position for me. I am thinking of spraying it with truck bed liner to make it super rugged and a lot better looking. Anyhow, excuse the quality of the first image...I was in a low lighting situation, but you will get the idea. Basically all I did was cut that design out of a single sheet of aluminum with some tin snips (after taking some measurements and making the cardboard cutout) and once I had the raw piece cut I used a large vice to bend the metal where needed. The back is 5 cm high which is perfect for where I want it. I drilled a hole on either side of the corners to get some nuts and bolts through it. They are small, but I wish I would have just used rivets. I may even be putting a power supply in the back here at some point, which would be nice as hell. There will probably also be an external light source for the vci mounted on this eventually, and who knows what else? I could even mount my audiofire2 into this....hmmmm

The finished product....so far

Painted it with the truck bed liner today, I must say...I like the finish. Matches the VCI pretty well.
