    Default Numark NS7 with V7

    Im considering getting a NS7 to learn everything on, then in time i want to get a 3rd deck, the V7 being just a single deck from the NS7 would match perfectly, but would it work? NS7 usb to comp and V7 Usb to comp, 3 decks in total, output 1 of V7 to aux input of NS7, can serato itch support 3 decks? from 2 different pieces of hardware or would i just be better off getting a cd player going into the aux input? i know that i cant assign it to the crossfader, but i still have control over volume via the gain and eq treble and bass.

    Joey is correct - unfortunately Itch only supports more than 2 decks with the XoneX. Even when I connect 2xV7's to a mixer, both audio from deck A and B come from the same V7.

    @GXAssassin

    If you're interested in an NS7 w/nsfx, 6 months old, PM me. I'm converting to TPro and trying to get one of them mythical DJTT VCI arcades.

    the only way you can get more then 2 decks is with more then 2 laptops.
    dx gets away with it because it doesnt use 14 bit hi res.
    the cd player in the aux is an interesting idea, especially as a back up if your computer shits out. if you think you really want a platform thats more modular or customizable i would look into getting v7s from the get go if you really wanna use itch

    Being in the lucky position of actually posessing a V7 AND NS7 I can tell that I tried both at the same time in Itch.

    It doesn't work. Both units send the same control-signals so instead of controlling a 3rd deck with the V7 you'd just control deck A or B of the NS7.

    In Traktor it would work BUT there is no official version with native support for the spinning platter out yet.

    as someone who went from NS7 to V7, my opinion is: get a pair of V7s and a decent mixer - and wait it out. I'm pretty sure NI's got something cooking. the V7/NS7 userbase is too large to ignore... same goes for the "4 decks with 2 V7s" thing within ITCH, it's most likely some exclusive deal crap that always gets in the way of progress.

    well, you can still use my traktor timecode hack and keep switching the timecode control from deck to deck (the same way you work when you have two turntables but want to use 3-4 decks). I believe I posted it already, if I haven't, check this out (hope you don't mind me sounding all confused, I was a bit groggy that day and just wanted to get it done):

    why bother? with the v7's really other then having 8 cue points most of the features of traktor can be covered with a decent mixer (key, filter, effects). and i am pretty sure the 4 deck thing really has to do with the amount of information being exchanged. thats why/how the dx works.

    I beg to differ on that. with the stuff traktor can handle on my machine with the cpu barely showing any signs of stress, I doubt that itch - which IMO is a much lighter application than traktor - would have problems handling four independent streams. especially since with two V7s, you can only control two decks at a time.

    I'm sure it's a licensing issue that will expire in due time.

    It isn't the information being processed, it's the information being exchanged between the V7 and your laptop. One USB cord can only handle so much.
    I'm not good at things, but I like to pretend I am.
