im not sure if this has been discussed before, did a search on "you rock guitar" and the result wasnt much

looks pretty good - price is really low as well ($199???)

pretty cool how it was midi out - im actually interested in it at first coz i used to play electric guitar but really cant be bothered buying another fender, this looks like fun to jam on

yeap i remember reading bout rockband with midi

but this thing doesnt need to be attached to a console to be operated (it seems like)

i think im gonna do a bit more research and perhaps get one if the feedback is good

My thought was that you get the guitar with midi and could use it the same way plus you get the game for fun. I think from reading the site you posted though that guitar will work with Rock Band and Guitar Hero and I'm sure it's going to better quality.
