    Default iPad + NI X1

    Hey guys, first post!

So I'm currently looking into my setup for DJ'ing (been trying out on my friends stuff and would consider myself mediocre) and with a rather slim budget, I find it hard to get a decent kit

Anyhow, So far it seems I will be going with the Traktor X1 with the Audio 2 DJ sound card and as for the mixer with faders etc, well, as the topic says: I have recently found my 64 GB 3G iPad less boring by using it as a Jazzmutant (by using touchOSC) with the layout from tech-control.com

So I wonder, would this be a decent setup? And also: does OSCulator work with Traktor LE since it's bundled with the X1 controler?

    Peace

PS: Here is a clip with a guy using the setup I mentioned http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjKyN...eature=related

I like the part where you have an iPad and are on a slim budget.

Looks pretty good, that will be flexible enough until you get hardware equipment. Who knows, you may love the touchscreen interface, but for mixing I much prefer knobs and sliders. But this is a really affordable way to start out since you already have the ipad.

Think I would pass on that crap. Nothing feels better than a real mixer or midi controller.

buy a DDM 4000 to practice at home, you can map traktor specific commands to the ipad and the mixing part (eq knobs, faders, etc) to the DDM4000
I will do that as soon as I have the money

I'd consider using touchscreen for FX, but for transport, eq's and faders I'd want proper knobs and that

Thx for the replies, but the question remains: Does anyone know if TouchOSC + OSCulator works with Traktor LE?

I don't have LE to test, but I'm pretty sure you can't import mappings in LE.

You'll want Pro with the X1 to. LE is very limited on FX and you would probably find it pretty boring. Someone had a pro license for sale on here the other day.

LE doesn't allow custom MIDI mappings, but if you have a Windows computer you can trick it to load TSIs that have been created elsewhere. So yeah, you're kind of boned until you get a proper version of Traktor.
