    Default Sound card suggestions?

So im rebuilding my desktop. I used to use sound blaster x-fi titanium and it still works so i could still use it. But i wanted something better for what i will be using it for.

I play guitar and would like to be able to plug my guitar straight into the sound card and start recording.
I also have a vci-100 that i will be using. I would love to be able to plug in my headphones and hear each track in a different ear. Ive seen external sound cards that people use for this, but idk if there are any internal sound cards that allow you to do this.

Im gonna be using this for all kinds of things from recording keyboard, guitar, singing, and using my vci-100, to listening to music on a 7.1 surround sound home theatre system that i have been trying to set up for about a year now lol.

Anyways can you guys give me some suggestions on what might be the best sound card for me?
    -Thanks

native instruments audio kontrol 1 or m-audio fastrack(if you don't need to monitor anything other than line in)/fastrack pro will do the job pretty nicely

You have the best one no need to downgrade
X-Fi Ti have native ASIO 2 Drivers
and U Use Desktop...PCI express is best choice
I think Ti have a lot of Connection type and The driver U can Choose Audio mode a lot of thing U can Do with your X-Fi Ti just look at the creative program folder in start menu...
And yes you got 2ms no crack & Pop latency

think about presonus firestudio mobile... seems a nice interface to recording and to playing live, it's the evolution of the presonus firebox, with was very popular and recommended around DJTT last year...

But it will be hard to find a nice external recording/playing interface and still have the 7.1 output to a home theather... Maybe it will be better to buy a internal general 7.1 sound interface for home use and a different external interface for recording and playing in a live PA

Hmmm so sounds like I might just need an external sound card to spit the tracks for each ear? I remember mentioning something about my sound card in this forum before and some one was frowning on it like I could have gone with a bunch of better options. Any other thoughts n e one? -Thanks

I have a Realtek HD sound card, and with the audio jack on the front of my PC i was able to split the two streams so i could monitor whatever track i wanted to, i'm sure x-fi would have something along those lines?

This was in VDJ though and to work in Traktor would probably need some sort of ASIO configuration.
