Where to begin...

Hello,

I am new to this forum, i recently purchased a vestax typhoon and i am looking to begin producing some music. I have some basic scratching techniques under my belt and a basic understanding of traktor. I mix hip-hop music (which doesnt seem to popular on this forum through what ive seen).

Basically i need some guidance. Where can i begin as far as skills and knowledge are concerned.

For production, your going to need a DAW like Logic (mac only), Ableton, FL studio etc. From there it takes some time to learn how to use the DAW but youtube has some great tutorials, people on this forum can help with specific questions etc. Im fairly new too but this is the basic direction to go in for production.

As far as added hardware goes I don't see it really being necessary I would just use the DAW you get, get a good pair of headphones or monitors so you can really hear all of the different parts/frequencies correctly from your track.

Sounds good, im working with a nice pair of headphones for monitoring and such, looks like ill get to work on FL Studio, thanks.
