Yep you can use your keyboard to control any synth really. All you need to do is make sure the track is armed (there should be a little red icon that looks to me like a hockey stick in a circle at the bottom of the midi track you want to control).
Not the most practical thing in the world though.
In my own experience, the only thing using your keyboard is good for is playing around with sample notes while I fine-tune my synth setting. But that's just me. If you can get away with it instead of buying a midi controller, why not?
