Default Cue mix at middle, cued track a LOT louder.. bug?

    Hey

I really love my S4 but there's one thing that makes it extremely difficult to create smooth mixes:

when having the cue-mix knob in the middle (50% cue, 50% master), pushing the cue button on the new track plays the track A LOT louder than what's going on on the master (for tracks that *are* the same volume).

That makes EQ and gain adjustments for a really smooth mix practically impossible. My HW mixer really plays 50/50 when having cue mix in the middle, so is this a (known) bug? Or any way to fix that?

    All help appreciated

yeah, it's because the master signal is lower than the cued one. hope they address it in the next update.

A workaround for it is compensate by moving the mix knob to the right and finding the "sweet spot"

Also double check your software cue volume. It's separate from the hardware and can cause volume discrepancies. If you've got the crossfader turned off you'll need to turn it back on to access the cue volume knob.

    Thanks for the help guys!

I checked the software volume and it was fine. Since I turned the (software) master to -6db to avoid clipping when having FX/samples etc, it really is that the volumes don't match anymore.
If I crank it up all the way to like +2, then cueing sounds okay with cue-mix in the middle (but it's a crap idea to go that far ).
So it seems when lowering the (software) master, they'd also need to lower the cueing volume but currently don't.
I really hope they fix that soon (submitted also a ticket). Finding a sweet spot also works of course but since I tend to also listen to 100% cue for some tracks, it's kinda hard to get to it quickly again if there's no dent
