Ever noticed: if you are in a heavy bass surrounding your VCI goes wild on the pitch bend midi command due to the vibrations pounding on your jog-wheels?
Who wants to try this:
-Take your VCI apart and disconnect the jog wheels.
-Disassemble the jog wheel.
-You will find an optical port with a very thin disk with a lot of very small holes on the outer edge rotating through it. The disk is that thin so it is able to vibrate on heavy bass impact. If it vibrates it causes focusing issues on the sensor, resulting detecting "motion" and sending out the pitchbend midi command.
-Our problems might be solved by stabilizing the disk, and make it a lot stiffer by glue something to the surface of the disc. Think of a washer, cardboard, plastic or just (hot)glue... Go wild and let me know your results.
You might end up with a f***** up VCI and a need to order spare parts.
Let me know.
Success.
John.
