    Default S4 Mapping

I am wondering if anyone knows where to find an editable TSI file of the default S4 mapping that you load directly from the menus.
I really like the default mapping, but I wanted to switch the effect 1 from "SHIFT + Effect 1 Button" combo, to "SHIFT + Effect 1 Knob". It feels more intuitive to me to search through the effects with a knob rather than pressing a button repeatedly. Also, if anyone knows how to get this method to display the drop down, that would be a big bonus. I tried loading the backup S4 mapping, but it's slightly different from the one that is "hardwired" into it, and missing some of the functionality the original has. Have to say... I was expecting a much easier mapping experience from using TSP with other controllers.

you can't edit the original mapping, you can only overwrite (partially) it's behaviour

I couldn't find an answer to my question via search, and the manual doesn't link to custom TSI files, but thanks. If you have links to an editable version of the S4's main mapping though, I'd love to see it. Cheers.

    take a look at this

    and this

    and don't forget that :
when you use a custom TSI, either yours or mine, or anyone else's for that matter, the loop length display gets turned off. It is only possible to use the loop length display when using the default Native Instruments configuration for the S4

Good to know. I'm guessing this means that no one has put out an exact mapping that mirrors what the S4 ships with on board? Any ideas if NI is planning on releasing one?

it can't be done. ie: the loop display ain't mappable. besides, i think you'll run short of modifiers a bunch of times before being able to replicate it.

You most likely got nothing back because there's a dedicated S4 section. If you search custom mapping in that forum you'll get these results.

4 down from where it says controller mappings in your own pic. You weren't to know, but now you do.
