    Default NI audio 10??

hey guys, i was just checking NI's website and they and when they were comparing the audio 10 to the audio 8 the said '' ideal for setting up Send & Return effects through your DJ mixer'' when talkting about the extra fifth in and out channel...

It means you redirect a channel out of the 5th output and into an external effects processor and then back into the 5th input to then be routed out through the master.

It's a common feature of decent quality mixers that allows you to add additional effects not included in your CDJs/program.

It means I finally get to integrate my Korg Kaoss Pad KP3 into my Traktor setup, as my mixer currently has no send/return...

    Tasty.

only shitty thing about this is if you are using your hardware with an external mixer you have no selection over pre or post fader. So say goodbye to using the delay and echo in a creative manner.

I've explained this in another thread, but to put it simply, if you have the delay or echo engaged on either of the pioneer 600 700 800 mixers, and you have it on only on one channel. You are able to bring the channel fader up and drop it on a beat and have a trailing echo even tho the fader is down. that means that the efx return line is either routed post fader or direct to master. in a situation with traktors efx, the return is on the same channel PRE fader so when the fader is down, you do not hear the trailing echo.

You could just internally kill the sound with a filter or internal EQ to achieve the same effect, couldn't you?

Then leave the fader up, and just stop playback of the echoed deck, and then fade out the echo trail with the fader....

Not such a good solution if you want to come back to that track in time though...

I'm starting to dislike the audio 10 straight out of the box, any of the pics i've seen of the set ups, it appears that it needs to be mains powered....

Major dissing point that it's not bus powered.

The main reason I'm not thinking of upgrading.
