    Default Modifier Values

    Hi

    Can anyone explain the way that values work within modifiers, it seems that you can set the value of the modifier in increments up to 9, but I dont understand how they interlink nor how to use them.

    basically a modifier button will be mapped to a modifier value.
    when the button is pressed, a modifier will change value.
    (add in: modifier 1, hold, value = 1)
    If you want a control to work only when the modifier button is pressed,
    make sure your modifier conditions for that control will have to be set correctly.
    Select m1 from the dropdown menu, and then value=1, This basically says: only do this if modifier 1 is at value 1.

    Now when the modifier button is pressed the value changes to 1 and the control works. If you let go of the modifier it will change back to 0, and the control wont work. (like the shift key on your keyboard. if shift is pressed (value 1), letter is big if else, not)

    this way you can layer controls on 1 button.

    In terms of the multiple values, basically if for example you wanted to use the same button for several different things using modifiers, you can do it with only 1 modifier by using different values of that modifier.

    So I dno, beatmash when M1=0, echo freeze when M1=1, Filter LFO when M1=2 etc.

    if you read the supercombos article you'll see that you can set buttons to increase the value of the M, with inverted commands to reset to 0. so you could have 4 buttons assigned to the M1 modifier and pressing any of them in any order will give you that number on M1.

    Ah OK

    So if I wanted to use a single a modifier to change both the effects allocation and the pitch fader allocation for decks AB to a button and knob.

    M#1 = 0 Value 1 (Mapped to Button A)
    M#1 = 1 Value 0
    Tempo = (Mapped Knob) Value 1 / Deck A
    Effect Assign 1 = (Mapped Button) Value 1 / Deck A
    M#1 = 0 Value 2 (Mapped to Button B)
    M#1 = 2 Value 0
    Tempo = (Mapped Knob) Value 2 / Deck B
    Effect Assign 1 = (Mapped Button) Value 2 / Deck B

    (Or if I had enough spare modifiers just use one for each deck! lol)
