    Default Akai LPD8 Trouble

Hey guys, so I picked up an Akai LPD8 in the hopes of using it to mainly to control effects in Traktor Pro 2, and use for it for dropping cues etc (along with my Hercules RMX). I'm no good at mapping so i decided to search for some tsi files online. I found a few different ones but no matter what I try I cant seem to get my LPD 8 to do anything to be honest. I import the file in the controller manager then....nothing. Any ideas??

For one thing, make sure your input and output ports are set to the LPD8, not 'all ports'

also, the midi notes on the lpd8 are editable, so make sure they're set to a standard layout or whatever the person who made the mapping used.

Or learn mapping, it's really not very hard and quite satisfying to get the hang of.

The problem your having is that the mapping you downloaded is not setup for the same midi notes. You must open the Akai Editor and either change the MIDI notes to match the mapping or just relearn all the buttons either way it's kind of a pain. You should go in and change all the buttons around as a lot of them are duplicated. At the very least change the first to sets of them I think the people who use all 4 sets regularly are in the minority. If you need more help let me know I'd be glad to.
