    Default Would this work?

I already own a mixtrack pro.

    Rather than buy a traktor s4 -$850

    Mixtrack Pro - $0
Use the platters for scratching/track navigation (remapped in order to be able to swap between decks A/C + C/D
+ More effects knobs + buttons.

    Akai APC40 - $380
Use the 16 knobs on the side for EQ Kills+A dedicated filter knob for each deck
Use 4 of the 8 Faders for the volume of each deck.
The other 4 possibly for effects/tempo of each deck.
Use the numerous buttons for cue points as well as FX (Like a midifighter)
(Then I can also use it with ableton for music production)

    Traktor X1 - $230
Use the knobs for all my effects
    + EVEN MORE BUTTONS

    Numark DJ I/O - $110

I already own a USB hub also.

    TOTAL
    $720
Im an aussie so these prices are a bit steeper than what they are over in the US.

Would the midi notes conflict? If so, is there a way to change them note being outputted?
Is there anything I have forgotten, or should I do this?

    Cheers,
    Harry

As long as you assign each controller to it's mapping in the controller manager you shouldn't have any problems.

it would work once you pick what controller controls what in the manager like photojojo said but in my opionion i think itd be a big big overkill :S I can understand getting the apc 40 so that you can use ableton aswell, but why the need for the numark i/o and the x1, seems like your just trying to waste money or buy stuff to fit in, numark use the same soundcards in there controllers so the mixtrack pro will be the exact same as the i/o, and why the x1? do you not think the apc40 will be more then enough control plus playing live means having to bring all this shite with you....

Does sound a bit like overkill, but I'm the king of overkill so I can't talk. Don't get the DJ I/O, the NI Traktor Audio 2 (or Audio 2 DJ as was) is better for the same price. That said, you already have the MTP's sound card so why do you need another one right now?

I think the apc and current controller is sufficiant till you outgrow it... I can talk from overkill experience if you look at my setup you will see what I mean I have now resorted to omni control and laptop for live use and the rest for studio and now saving for an xone 4d once I get my new toy (a nice jap car )

Honestly dude I'd just get the APC40 and a sound card like the audio 2. There's a whole shed load of controls there.

You don't have to map absolutely everything. If anything I find a I perform better with a small number of carefully selected features available to me, not the whole damn thing.

Thanks for the feedback. My mixtrack doesnt have an inbuilt sound card.

I think I'll just get the APC40 + The soundcard at the moment.

See how I go. THEN if I really feel like I need more, Which you guys believe I probably should. Then get the X1.
