Default stupid question, or one you all want to ask.

I bought an NI audio 6 this weekend, and when I opened it, the metal loop on the back that I assumed was for locking the unit to a table turned out to not be a loop. Its a metal J that would be no good for putting a lock on. What is this? I've looked everywhere, and am kinda feeling stupid, as it looks like it is there for a reason. Can someone enlighten me please?
    Thanks.

Hahaha I assumed, from the pictures I saw, that it was a ring to lock the thing to a table so that junkies don't try to steal it. But when I opened the box, I quickly realized that a lock won't do much good on it. So I stared searching everywhere, and was left scratching my head.

you have to sorta hook it around but in my opinion its not really necessary. the cord slots in quite securely.

another stupid question now this one has been solved: do all turntables have/need those rubber mats like the technics? I got a cheap used reloop and no rubber mat on there, it works so I guess it's fine?

If you mean slipmats you really do not want rubber ones for DJing, you need something that will move under the vinyl so you can cue without damaging your records.
