Default Xone 4D, mix, loop, and 4 deck recording

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?nomobile=1&v=hn744HvnuWQ

The above link is the video that showed me how I used to record 4 deck timecode dj sets using traktor scratch pro ver 1. That's not me, just a vid I found a few years ago that finally showed me how.

Now traktor changed the way the timecode is assigned and this solution no longer works. I have to give up the 4th deck for a record in, and for the loop recorder consequentially.
The xone has 10 channels, so normally none of this would be a problem. just run the master channel into the 5th set of stereo ins just like an audio10 and bam, ive got everything.
BUT............. my last pair of stereo ins and outs on the Xone 4D are digital coax or spdif. DOH!
I've looked and posted everywhere but here.
does anyone know how I can record 4 decks simultaneously in TSP2 without using other hardware, and if I do, best option?

Thanks a lot guys and gals.

i just received my 4d so i aint sure. are the faders midi mappable too?? cus if so u could just set the recorder to internal.... Or u could free up a channel by combining two outputs from traktor into one audio channel (deck c and d via channel 3)

You might be stuck recording into the line in on your laptop. Not the solution you want I know.

Are you actually using 4 inputs on the back of the mixer? If not you can assign a spare input as the record channel.
I saw a post on the NI forums where some1 said they were using the FX2 loop on the 4D for recording. I do this with my Mackie D4 pro but you need to make sure the FX send, wet/dry knobs and gains are all set correctly for it to work.

Does the latest Traktor still crash if you select the main out for recording btw? I forgot to test it before rolling back. I'm not convinced they've got any certified mixer beta testers, you know

So I could engage the sound card, input the master to the spare input, and still play/output from that deck on that channel? I just broke down my equipment from the club and it's still in my jeep from last night or I'd of tried this already.
I have one spare input i could use, yes..... The fx loop to record? I'm hunting that link down now. Never thought of using them that way. No latency issues?

Traktor? Other than taking up much more ram and CPU cycles it's fine, as an example I have a late 09'MBP 2.66 8 g ram
I can run 64 bit, and between traktor with my xone 4D and my SL 4 as far as numbers go serato is a clear winner. I can flip a switch to 96 in the middle of a set and other than a slight pop it keeps on humming. I try traktor with my xone at the same quality and it kept glitching BAD. Anyone know why? All my drivers are updated.

    Much respect bro.

The last post in this thread is the 1 I had in mind

I think you can either connect a lead to loop back from the record out to a spare channel or reroute it internally using the FX send.
