    Default some questions

okay guys, this is my first post , and since i had this tought for days , i really think i should ask this one to a professionals like you guys...here they are:

i'm very short on money , and really want to dip in this whole world of controllerism... so i had this old melodica , from my elementary school (small piano keyboard that works like a flute) like this one

    it has 36 keys

i want to merge it with a typing qwerty keyboard, like moving qwerty keyboard buttons, or applicating the sensors to my melodica buttons, so i can use it asd a keyboard controller..but i have no idea how should i done that, i'm not keen on iron soldering, and my electrical skills sucks. Maybe i could use some flexible rubber keyboard? or something else? please help me out guys...

oh yeah, and i just finished making my broken PSone to a scratch controller using some optical mouse and some software to allow you to use 2 mouse at same computer, i'll post it later..

Ps: sorry for my bad english , i'm nowhere near america or UK

so you mean you want to make this into some kind on midi controller? a deconstruction of a midi keyboard or a normal qwerty keyboard would be quite a feat. My question is, why wouldn't you just use a normal midi keyboard?

From what I know, resoldering a normal computer keyboard would be pretty difficult and the same goes for a midi keyboard. You could use an IPAC which is generally used for converting arcade type buttons to keyboard strokes but even this would require a lot of time and a lot of microswitches.

Why not just use a normal midi keyboard for what you want to do? I hope I haven't got the wrong end of the stick here. I would be keen to see your PSone controller mod.

    thanks for your respond laurens!
well it all goes down to the money, it will be nice having some small 32 keys midi keyboard, and use my money to buy KorgNano kontrol or nanopad... and i think it quite possible, since qwerty keyboard and midi keyboard use its buttons to do some conductive action to connect sensors below the buttons to create some input signals to the computer. after checking out my usb gamepad, i came out with this idea, that is to expand the 2 unconnected button sensors with a cable, and hook it up inside my melodica button,so when i press the melodica , ot will do the same action like when i press my qwerty keyboard. for now i only have to buy myself some iron solders, and find some assistance since i have no experience using solders...

oh yeah, for the controller mods, i just use some old mouse, virtual DJ, and some little programs to allow me using 2 mouse at 1 computer...i'll post it when i got smaller mouse ...it's basically just hooking mouse scroll button to the CD inside the psone, and use the scroll to control scratch in Virtual DJ
