Default S4 and incorporating Ableton Effects

Just looking for some help before I go out and buy an S4 – I will be using this to control Traktor Pro 2 and I was wondering If there is a way for me to use the Ableton effects over the tracks playing in Traktor?

Can I do this using the S4? If not, can I do this using Touch OSC to control the Ableton effects over Traktor?

you could route traktor into Ableton , pretty sure there is some videos on the web about this and most likely a thread or 3 about it here in the forums

Great, i was just making sure that that is the case - spent about 2 hours going through old threads and but nothing on controlling the effects through ableton while using Traktor. Thanks for the reply

You'll need another soundcard and jack audio to do that properly as the s4 isn't the right unit to be able to do that. Yes you can control ableton by turning the s4 into midi mode or use touch osc.

ok great, thanks for the info. What if i used the S4 to control Traktor and Touch OSC to control the Ableton effects with the Ipad? How would i set this up?

    Thanks again!

the issue isn't that, the issue is the nature of the s4's soundcard and routing the audio correctly without latency.
Easier to do on Mac than on PC. Don't ask me I never really succeeded using a pc, too much latency.

You'd better ask a db4 owner to get the correct answers.

Ok, thanks for the help. I have decided to go for the S4 with the Audio 6 and wire it up that way. Thanks for your help
