    Default Need a quick answer!

So I want to upgrade from my Stanton SCS3 System, it's to difficult to jump around and switch to all of the modes and be really effective with it. I'm going to trade it in and do 1 of these things: I can get the Pioneer DDJ Ergo or the Traktor Kontrol S2 for $509+tax. OR I can get a Kontrol S4 for $765+tax. LASTLY, I can wait for the VCI-400. Which do you recommend?? Help!

preferably Traktor and so far, I've only worked with 2 channels successfully.

That's why I'm asking the question, I've researched enough to narrow it down to these choices and I was wanting some direction from a few more experienced people.

personally i'd wait for more hands on tests with the vci400. looks like a very cool controller. +1 to not impulse buying anyway. don't think the ergo is in the same league as the others u mention.

Yea, I'm bent on the Ergo, because they argue that it's powerful as the S4, but it looks cheap and most people on the street say that it's junk. I think I'm going to wait on the 400 and then decide from there.

Last question anyone! Should I order the VCI-400 now from a European site?? or wait until march? Or go with an S4?

Honestly, if you plan (or are even thinking about) adding turntables to your home setup in the future, and want to buy a controller now, the S4 is going to be your best bet.

That being said, if you want something for mixing... I'd honestly toss it up between the S4 and VCI-400. I think the VCI-400 is a bit smarter on the layout department personally, but S4 is fully integrated with Traktor, so it has that going for it.

Out of those options I don't think you'll be unhappy. One thing to consider as well, even if you are just using 2 main decks, you can always set the other two decks to sampler slots in Traktor, and use them like that. I'm sure when you get a high-end controller, there will be more possibilities than you can initially handle lol.
