Tempo Sync input doesnt do anything ?
Working with the latest traktor update 2.1.1.
I use S4 and im kinda sick of how the sync buttons force beat sync. Beat sync really sucks for cue juggling, and it only works when a track is playing (soo annoying).
So i wanted to setup some tempo sync buttons on my keyboard for each deck, but when i set the input it doesnt do anything, I tried beatsync and phasesync, those both worked.
Found some other ppl talking about this problem on the NI forums:

Id consider downgrading but I like how filters are post effects in the new update.
Side question, anyone know an easy way to downgrade ??

I haven't tried mapping a button to tempo sync, but if I wanted to just get the tempos matched I'd probably just hit sync twice on the S4 when you are cuing the track.

well ya thats what im currently doing but the track also has to be playing so assuming i want to start at a specified cue. It ends up being alot of steps:
1. load track
2. goto cue (optional if you setup a load cue correctly)
3. press play
4. sync
5. sync
6. pause
7. go back to cue you want
8. play
if i had the tempo sync it could be
1. load track
2. goto cue (optional if you setup a load cue correctly)
3. tempo sync
4. press play
The /pause/go back to cue you want/play/ steps sometimes arent necc. if you intended your phase to be different from the master which is sometimes the case when your hitting cues, s4 forces beatsync and will match the phase too messing up whatever timing you had when you hit the button.
These type of things keep adding up, pretty sure im gonna get a vci 400 when they come out.

First, create an S4 user mapping for beatsync, learn the same sync button and have it toggle. This way you only have to press sync once. Load your track, set your cue point, hit play, sync, then cue. If you press cue while the track is playing the track goes back to the cue point and pauses. It's still not ideal, but doing it that way cuts back on the number of steps you need to do.

i may be in luck 2.1.2 came out and it mentions a tempo sync fix. Will test later tonight to see if its related to my issue. O/w ill implement your suggestion. should shave a few steps of my current workflow.

I just updated. Tempo sync works as it should. You should be able to use the sync on your S4 now as long as you have it set to tempo sync and not beat sync. It phase syncs when you turn sync on but it still lets you out of sync after.
