Default Next big thing in DJ'ing?

    Hey guys,

Haven't been active on the forums in a while, but when I ran into this link I just had to share it. I really think this could be a game changer:

    That is coooooolllll

VDJ already has various touch screen apps, I bet this would work great with it.
    1 Denon DNX1600, 2 Technics SL1200MKII, 1 Pioneer DDJ SX, 1 Reloop Terminal Mix2, 1 MBP running VDJ/Traktor/Serato SL/DJ

my vote is on augmented virtual reality glasses and gloves that can touch the items in view, so you can get all minority report, it would be halarious to watch & make the users look like tards.

Also touch screens are inherintly risky in a live performance & not precise, they are not worth it in my opinion.

There are a plethora of touch screen DJ implementations on youtube, for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVD_Lvv4UOI and I don't think it's gonna be the next big thing. Both for the reasons syntheti1c provided and also for the lack of tactile feedback.

Touch is definitely part of the future of DJing, but I don't believe that's in the form of completely touch interfaces. I think those will still be fairly niche until we've developed some pretty sophisticated haptic technologies. I think touch interfaces will be used commonly where there are areas of high modality and where precision isn't as important. Effects interfaces naturally come to mind.

I think we're also going to see a lot of "utility" controllers out in the next year or so. We've seen a ton of "all-in-one" controllers, and I think the market is pretty saturated with them. The next step is to spread out and try to cover very specific use cases. The Dicer is a great example of the KIND of controller I'm talking about here. I think we're also going to see a few grabs for the next Technics 1200 replacement - in a whole lot of different forms.
