    Default s4 usability

I have an s4 coming next week and i cant wait for it to arrive so i can play it to death.! It'll be the first digital setup I've ever used, previously had Denon 3500s and Behringer DJX750..

This forum has highlighted a few different problems that i might encounter with the S4. what are the main problems i will have to overcome (if any) before i play out with it !? any help would be appreciated.!

Mate there are plenty of threads on here that list potential problems. Too many to list again.

Give us a few more details. laptop specs, usage etc.

I think it should be of high enough performance to run traktor successfully, shouldnt it ?

Yeah mate plenty good enough. Just make sure you perform the tweaks for optimising windows for audio (google search will find this) and also run the windows optimising script for Traktor (in the s4 forum on this site). 9 times out of 10 this will work a treat. If not there are a few other things you can do.

The only other issues will be with the audio drivers but again the most stable version can be found on here. (on my iPhone otherwise I'd post the link for you).

Can't think of any other stumbling blocks. Enjoy!!

Ive found that the key to 95% of my probs has been the Wi-fi. As long as it is off...no probs. Turn it on....poop hits the fan. Try the optimization and run with it. If noticed less issues with the wifi after having done the upgrade to 2.1.2 today. Enjoi!

Another quick note....depending on what type of djing you do (ie club, wedding, mobile etc...) you may want to take a hard look at what you are going to be using the mic for. Going to a mic mixer in opposed to the internal mic setup was a must in my line of work.

i've got 3 tips for you

    1) disable Wi-fi card and antivirus (you don't need if you don't use internet and it will free a lot of RAM)
2)change your videocard with the less-memory usage one (if they are switchable)
3)use the script http://www.djtechtools.com/2011/08/1...-power-script/ and it'll go perfectly!
