Default Is there a midi alternative to Xone 92?

Is there any midi controller out there that is laid out in a manner that really lends itself to the 4 band eq?

I'd love an xone 92 but tbh I'm quite happy mixing 'in the box' and it seems most of the clubs I've played in have the DJM 800. I'd really like a midi mixer (no jog wheels) that was lightweight I could carry with me and get to know properly. It'd be great to just plug one usb and one pair of rca's in, instead of annoying the other dj. On top of that there there is the cost, which when I don't really need any audio components is unjustifiable.

Apart from the top row of encoders on the k2 it looks perfect, I wish they'd just had one more row of knobs.

Am I looking at a new build log? I've heard you can buy A&H faceplates lol?

well if you're looking for a full size controller without jogs the only one i really know of is novation's twitch. if you're just looking for something smaller to use next to a club setup like the k2 there's the kontrol x1 or you could get a midifighter.

Yeah the twitch looks cool but I've got my deck controls covered with my RGB, I really just want a simple 4 band eq midi mixer (2 or 4 channel) with gain and possibly some spare knobs for master and headfone cue and filters.

So basically a fader and 5 pots above it for each channel strip.

The x1 would be near perfect if the encoders at the bottom were just normal rotary pots I could use as volume. I'm starting to think this controller doesn't exist. I would of thought with the popularity of 4 band eq in certain genres the inclusion of it in traktor and the ongoing success of the 92, someone would have offered it up in midi form?

I'm seriously considering the DIY route, does anyone know anywhere in the UK that can offer faceplate cutting without it costing the earth? A full on 92 mod may be overkill but if the offical faceplates are cheaper this may be a better option?

yep 4MidiLoop is what I would recommend too; but for the price you could get 2 Xone 92s. I'd say go for an X1 and just use the house mixer. You can mix externally and still use the internal EQs so you can use the X1 to make those adjustments as well as choosing songs and doing loops and stuff, but use the volume controls on the house mixer. Of course then you're gonna want to plug in more than one RCA.

Not many options in midi mixers with 4-band EQ options. M-Audio and DJ-Tech make some midi-only mixers but as far as I know they are all 3-band and don't even include a gain knob that you could repurpose. You could do what a lot of people do and just combine two of the EQs on one knob in your map if that suits your mixing style.

Hey guys thanks for the suggestions, I forgot all about the 4midiloop. That's *exactly* what I want but I think I'll need to forget it again given the price too! It's a brilliant piece of kit but I can't for the life of me understand why its that expensive when its essentially just a midi controller with a few LED's?

It's even an inch shorter, which I was thinking of!

Chances of one turning up on eBay lol? Or building yourself one for cheaper?

You could look at a fader fox FT3

then mix that with a few of the other models to get a bigger control surface

    adding something like a Dx3

might be fun to build your own though

@csmith5888, as much as my bank balance hates you for it, I think you're on the money. The more I look at the videos the more I reckon this is exactly what I'm after, the integration with traktor is crazy tight and no space is wasted (for me) with jogs.

I see the mapping now includes all the features in TP2 and I reckon I could maybe even eek out a little bit more with some ready to go effects mappings. Maybe the maschine could team up well...

***Could anyone who's had any experience with the 4midiloop unit maybe chime in?***

Think the RGB, VCM600 and APC20 will be on ebay tonight! I saw in the 'selling' forum no ebay links are allowed but some people have them anyway? I've never seen an ohm rgb on ebay so I'm not sure if people will search for it? I'd rather it went to someone on here for a good price tbh (but with the safety of ebay).

Thanks again guys, djtt has done it again!
