How would i strengthen a PSU power cable from a piece of wire to something sturdy?

The power supplys that comes with decks are pretty weedy pieces of wire, how would i strengthen one.

Cable sleeves that heat shrink, or would that probably ruin the wire underneath?

Has anyone reinforce their PSU wire?

Or does it safe for the set up to 'run the setup' and 'travel to gigs' etc on a tiny piece of wire?

maybe try some heat shrink tubing? should thicken up the wire and make them a bit more durable. You can get a lot of different sizes from radioshack. you'd have to find something that's big enough to fit over the connector or you could cut it put it over the wire and then shrink it down. i would use a few layers of it going from a smaller size to a bigger size just to be on the safe side.
