    Default vci-400 jog wheel fx

so i've started making a simple vci-400 mapping for fx jog wheels. this is a test file for you to see if i'm going in the right direction.

to use it - save your already own tsi. and then load mine - nothing will work on vci appart from left jog wheel - (it's a test run right?)
then switch to 3rd mode (3-way switch all to the right) in front of your vci (the left one)
we have 2 fx presets (first two buttons from the left under the jog)

press 1 preset button - it will lit in red - you are now in fx mode 1 - scratching is disabled. to exit press vinyl button twice. (any ideas for walkaroud?)
press 2 preset button (second from left under the jog) - 1st presset button will go off and the 2nd button will lit in red. you are now in 2 fx preset.

    things done:

1> fx only works with vinyl button on (modifier on that button) i want to save scratch possibilty,
2> when you press the jog wheel - effect values go to "specific start point" (modifier on jog wheel touch depending on which preset you're in)

    problems from start:

1.how to turn off vinyl button led to show that we are now in fx mode while "using scratch mode"? (we need the touch sensor to work - to turn on effects after pressing the weel)
2.how to go back to scratch mode just in one vinyl button click? or maybe other button click ?
    3. is it a good idea to make a "go to effect specific value on start" function on jog wheel press? i could make it on preset buttons i guess ... which one would be better? i think i will change it to presets - then you will be able to set a start value by moving a jog wheel and then start effects by pressing it.
    4. we have 4 spaces for fx - those two presets are just a test - they are not an epic ones or even good ones - i didint set specific values on effects - there will be time for that later on - first i have to be sure this type of mapping is worth working on hehe - start efect value, effect types and jog will rotary sensitivity on effects are just set for test purpose!!!
    6. is there a point to combine group effects with single effects? in one preset?
7.will it be possible to make 2 decks jog wheel fx with this mapping architecture? will it be possible to do it for 4 decks?

as i said it is just a test run, 3h work so don't be harsh on me - i'm pretty sure i will need a lot of help from you! feel free do mod this, give a lot of advice and post where to search on "jog wheel mapping" therm - i have tried to re write a s4 mapping but it was too hard. i've started from 0. tomorrow i will experiment with adding it to vci-400 standard mapping and will fix effect values, effect types and number of effects.

so now we have vci-400 working in Hetchbend's S4 mode + 4 FX jog wheel presets on each deck (a/b) + scratch mode + tempo bend stepless (on vinyl off)

    to run this:
    save your tsi.
    import mine
go to 3rd mode on play/cue buttons in front off your vci-400 - all way to the right.
press preset button (under the jog wheel)

you have 4 fx presets on each deck - turn on fx1 on for deck A and fx2 on for deck B - all fx are group.

u can control deck A fx with 2 jogs when you press fx1 + fx2 buttons on same for deck B

to go back to scratch mode press vinyl button twice (preset button (red) go off)

when presets buttons go off - you're good to go with scratching
when presets buttons are on (red) jog wheel will control effects

there are 4 presets - still just a test run - values and effect types are random (i just picked up some to see if it works) - you have to help me with that D

    things to do:

set up some serious effects combos + start values + rotary sensitivity + invert => anybody?

make some combo effects with group + single fx (for now each preset runs 3 effects (group) = we can always make more...)

add tempo fader functoin to control additional efects ... like vci 100se

    make 4 deck support?

and the main question - right now start effects values are set on jog touch - everytime you touch a jog effects go to their specific start values - i'm considering changing this to preset buttons

so after you press preset one - effects start values are already set and you can maipulate jog wheel, without pressing it (it turn effect on), to change start values before turning them on...
but to go back to start values you chave to press each time coresponding preset =

    what do you think?

thx to Hetchbend for his S4 vci-400 mapping - go check it out at http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ne.aspx?id=176

    Hey,
    great mapping !!
one question: In what order should the effects be arranged so that the effects sounds as they should? Witch effects (Name)are used for the presets? If you change the order in Traktor Preferences/ FX-Preselectin the effects will change to the Jogwheel Presets and it sounds not in the right way. Please tell me the your FX Preselection Order.
    Many thanks

1.I think activate the Jog for effects by double pressing the vinyl button is not the best way Hope we find another option for this. Maybe a Led Feedback if itīs "on air" may fix the problem so you know exactly witch modus is active-Scratch or Jog FX-cause if youīre wrong and playing live it sounds not good for the crowd...
    2. What about dry/wet? Now you have to use two hands- best way is to integrate it to the jog-
    what do you think about?

    1. You activate "fx jog wheel" only when you press presets button (if they are red it means your in fx mode, if they are off and vinyl button is lit = you're in scratch, if presets buttons are off and vinyl is off - you're in tempo bend mode) - you go back to scratch by pressing vinyl button twice (pressets button go off, vinyl button is on.)

    2. making dry/wet on jog wheel would be difficult - maybe when some button pressed (like 'shift button"?) i can give it a try and make an option (if there is sens for it) to make a shift button on pressets button - so while you press and hold preset button - you control dry/wet ... when you release it - effects kick in -
but controlling effects amount and dry/wet all at one makes no sens for me - maybe in special effect combination it would work = like one presset - but not all of them.

still making some little changes - soon will release v3...

Ok activate jog FX is clear-I was too stupid it was late last night...

    2. I think for some dramatic effects itīs important to use the dry/wet function. Here we must try a lot of different combinations to find a good sound result. Maybe we can have a look to other jogwheel FX presets
