    Default S4 Loop Recorder

    Hey guys,

this is probably in the manual somewhere but i cant seem to find mine.

    What i have been doing:

When i use the loop recorder on the S4 i will record the loop then i use my laptop touchpad to drag the loop into one of my sample decks

    What i want to do:

Use the loop recorder as above but use my S4 to transfer it to an empty Sample deck so i do not have to touch my laptop at all.

Is there an easy way to do this?

I dont care if you use 2 ipads...2 cassette tapes...or a washboard and a wooden spoon...if you rock it, you rock it.

It's possible, and its in the manual. The manual can be found by clicking the help tab at top left when not in full screen mode.

Specifically have a look at how to use the copy mode, that's how you'll transfer a loop from the loop recorder to a sample slot.

TBH i didnt even look at the manual at all lol.

I had gotten used to just dragging from the loop recorder to the slot and didnt think much of it as that is the ONLY time i ever touch my laptop using the S4.

I was watching the Dubfx video and saw him transfering the loop recorder off the S4 and was like WTF how did he do that?

    ....now i know

With all the extra button pushing it might still be easier for me to use the laptop...i will have to try this out tonight

actually no, the copy mode is one underated and less used feature from the s4 where it is actually really clever. The led feedback is awesome, accessing the mode is easy, duplicating and moving tracks and samples too and opens for quite a few tricks.
I mean like using doubles from a same song, playing with the beats, using fx and another one applied to the double the possibilities are quite endless. If one is looking to add a few tools to his arsenal, playing with doubles is a good suggestion. Of course there's more to cover considering samples.

Djtt once offered a few examples:
