Strange question regarding Traktor + Launchpad

Hey guys/gals,

So I'm looking to purchase a Launchpad to go with Twitch (in Traktor) but I was talking to a buddy and he said something about how unless I reprogram the Launchpad using Max For Live than the LEDs on the Launchpad won't illuminate my clips when rewiring into Traktor...

Does anyone know if this is true? I'm def a noob when it comes to this stuff so thx for the help

I should add all I'm trying to use the Launchpad is to launch acapellas or different loops on top of my Traktor decks.

not true at all. no clue why he would mention max4live when u asked him about traktor - that has bugger all to do with anything.

launchpads just speak midi and don't by themselves ever light any pad leds. to make them light up you just send feedback from the app you are using, so in the case of traktor you add 'out's from the control manager.

edit: are u trying to use the one launchpad to control clips in live and sample decks in traktor at the same time - or just using it with traktor?
