    Default [Newbie] Gear question

    Hello all,

Although I've been following DJTT forums for a couple of weeks now, this is my first post.
I want to learn DJing. I try to dig into the forums as hard as I can and I've been watching tutorial videos for a while now. But these are all useless without practice, so I decided to buy a controller to have the sense of it.
As you can imagine I will be a bedroom dj for starters and do this as a hobby.
I narrowed down my list to Numark Mixtrack Pro and Kontrol S2, obviously my budget is around 400-500€.
So which one would you prefer, considering S2 is on sale nowadays.
I have a pretty powerful laptop so running the software won't be an issue, headphones and speakers are also out of question for now.

Looking forward to have a good time here in DJTT forums.
Your help is much appreciated. Thanks!

I'd go for the S2 without question. If you don't have speakers and headphones it'll be pretty useless though.

To start out the S2 would be perfect. You could use earbuds if you have them to get by till you can afford headphones, or get a cheap pair of headphones till you can afford better ones. You can also just use the headphones without speakers to learn alot. You just won't be able to cue a track while another is playing. If you have computer speakers or a home stereo, you can use those.

Yes, you can. I assume you haven't seen the cue mix knob on the front of the S2.

    Thanks a lot.
    S2 it is then.
I have a 5+1 gaming speaker system and I'm searching for decent headphones at the moment. They should be enough I think.
    Thanks again!
