    Default Just Purchased an S4

I just purchased an S4, Love the feel and look no issues there.

I have it setup and running only issues is this is all new to me, I used to DJ back in the day way back in 2002 was the last time I touched anything.

Now everything has changed and I see whole lot of nobs and a program and can maneuver around a lil but so lost...

Doe anyone know of any good tips or any sites I could use to get familiar with the equipment. I was considering DJTT tutorial DVD anyone have experience with this? I also was looking into the Traktor Bible

Any advise would be great... Thanks in advance

Traktor Bible is worth every penny!

I haven't seen it, but I've heard the DJTT DVD is a good tutorial to get you going.

To start, I would go through the S4 manual and the Traktor manual page by page to learn the bulk of everything you need to know. So many people skip this important step, and end up asking things that are covered by the manufacturer's literature. The Traktor manual can be found by clicking help at the top left when not in full screen.

Next, do the same thing with the Traktor Bible. There will be sections of this and the Traktor manual you can skip because they won't pertain to your situation. So it's not like you have to read the entire thing.

Search the DJTT forums, or just read through old threads. Use Google to search the forums though, as the search function on here can be frustrating. (or it used to be, I haven't tried it since the upgrade).

The DJTT blog has some great older articles and videos that will help. Alot of the Traktor articles on older versions (TPro 1.x.x) will still work with the newer software and help you understand things better.

First learn about beat gridding your tracks correctly. There are also some YouTube videos on this you can find.

    Hope this helps!

It does help thank you I did read the manual that came with it but I think more or less that is just a quick start guide in many languages it just looks like a think book so is the one your talking about more extensive?

The manual is way more extensive than the quick start guide. Also the software manual is more in depth than the S4 manual.

At the traktorbible.com website there are a few free to view sections of the Traktor bible also.

The DJTT DVD is good; It will not teach you to DJ, but it does its job to make you familiar with the S4.

Dude, sorry I didn't respond to your PM. Let me know if you are still considering a separate install on a removable device. Did you try the things I mentioned?
