I definitly have to agree it's creative stuff but I'm still kindof against it. (Execpt for Joachim Garrauds piano-guitar act., that again is more like an instrument anyway)

Either way those alternative controller acts should be used sparsely.
It looks kind of uncool. Also the fact that you can see how the sound is evolving according to his moves makes the magic go away.
When a dj is working the mixer or a conventional controller I often can't stop thinking "omg, how does he do it."
I think the reason the crowd goes off is because they can see the relationship between what he's doing and how it's effecting the sound.
