    Ableton Live is probably the reason there's so many mashups in the first place.

    oh, wait…best for making mashups……ableton. But any DAW can do it. I've heard mashups made in Audacity that sounded as good as anything else.

    Personally, I would go with Ableton Live. Owners of an Ipad can also have a glance at the "MashUp"-app.
