need help with mpd 24 wont communicate with my keyboards

I have two midi keyboards connected to mpd 24. One keyboard i use for sound the other is 88 key midi keyboard controller I use for wider range. I had a mpc 2000xl and i wanted to have it set up like i did previously were everything works from the akai device. can someone give some help??

The MPD is just another MIDI device, the keyboards won't actually do anything without a synth or plugins.

Actually on keyboard is a synth and has sound I was trying to map the drums from the synth onto the mpd. Unfortunately I can't map my synth to my mpd and run ableton with it at the same time. any advice
