Default For those that complain about Traktor's performance.

On its very worst day, Traktor my friends, is a gift sent from the angels in every fathomable respect compared to the stinking tombola of suicide-inducing code wreckage that goes by the name of Camtasia.

I have spent the last four sh1t-fest inducing days attempting to construct a simple 60 minute screen capture for work. I unfortunately know the software inside-out as I am forced to handle the devil's binaries on an almost daily basis. I have a machine sporting an i7 with 8GB of RAM, and an SSD and a pristine install with next to nothing on it other than Cantasia and MS Office. And yes, I have optimized the gonads off of it as I now pre-programmed to removed every conceivable bell and whistle from Windows whether I need to or now. "Oh, does that make Windows 7 fractionally more pleasing and easy to use? Then get it the f*ck off my computer! I want a rally-car system that's built for speed and tears."

Anyway, back to that box of pigs from Techsmith. Will this f*cker work like an even the remotely usable app it claims to be? Let me tell you, no it f*ckign does't. It might be great for a quick screencap and some basic edits but try and do anything useful on it and all you get is freezing and random app crashes. Who the F*CK releases software today that's 32 bit only? (well, apart from the company I work for). Maybe these f*ckers in Michigan have discovered the secret to immortality and are able to while away the centuries as the audio clip moves across the screen like it was being controlled by a Commodore 64 spiked with Ketamine but I f*cking don't!

I have to use this over-priced sack of colour blind skunk bile for the forseable future which means even less time to waste on here and god help I ever get within 400 f*cking yards of something that might actually allow me to produce or mix some f*cking music!

Native Instruments, you deserve to have sweet, sweet love made to you by each and every one of us for the software you produce. Your stuff mostly works and the stuff that doesn't is still infinitely more usable than the best code these screenr@ping b&stards at TechSmith force me to defile myself with.

And no, I don't want any tips on Camtasia.

Ok, that's better. Now to find a f*cking large hammer.

smitten i feel your pain bruv.. trust me i do.. and although i dont use Traktor, using software that actually works without having to have tech support on speed dial is like making love to a perfect hand sculpted angel of god

but on another note... do you still do the traktor/serato script for power etc?

I don't use the power script as much as I have a dedicated partition for musicery (yes, it's a word now). Its a no-thrills partition with Traktor, Maschine & Ableton on it and that's about all. The script is more suited for people who need to have other "stuff" installed on their system and want a quick and easy way to temporarily turn off services that keep polling or hog resources.

This is actually an EXE so you don't even need to run it through the command line.

You know I was once amazed completely sober by the Commodore 64... I really don't remember it being slow, but I was coming from an Atari 400 with a tape drive.

Seriously though is there an alternative that works better for your companies needs? It might be time to stage a serious suggestion.
