Default VCI-400 tempo fader adjustment in Traktor

    Hi all,

Is there a more precise way to map the tempo faders of the VCI-400 (not EGE) in Traktor 2.6.1? Even with the tempo range reduced, it's difficult to adjust during a set because it moves in such large increments in BPM (you have to be reaaally careful). I find myself using the sync button to compensate, which works, but I much prefer using tempo faders, like with a CDJ. Does the VCI-400 EGE have this problem too?

I tried a friend's Kontrol S4, and the adjustment is very precise and easy to do during a set. Is this because NI uses a proprietary HID protocol with the S4 that isn't MIDI? Can the VCI-400 somehow use this protocol?

What tempo range are you using at the moment?

You could map the small square buttons above the faders to change tempo in small increments.

I am using a tempo range of 20%. If a track at 87.50 BPM is loaded, I can adjust from 70 BPM to 105 BPM in that range. The problem is, the smallest increment the tempo fader increases it by is 0.14 BPM.

That's a great idea - I will try it tomorrow and reply back!

20% is a pretty huge range tbh. CDJs are usually on 10% or 6%, and their fader is twice as long as the VCI 400.
