Can a footswitch be unmapped from loop recorder and mapped to something else?

Only answer I can find is "no it cant", but the person doesnt seem too sure.

I'm OK with mappings, so have a good idea how and what I'm going to do with it. Just a question of is it hard coded and is it possible to unmap it?

I haven't tried, but shouldn't be hard to test. Make a S4 user map, add in a command, hit learn, press pedal, turn off learn, select override factory map, then see if it works.
