    Question DEATHSTEP - Need Feedback !

    hey guys,

    i'm working on my new ep now. here's one of the maybe six tunes.

    The synth is too loud with no lower register, I would decrease the volume and add either a new oscillator with a really low square wave or just add a new synth that focuses on the low mid. Also the drums don't really have enough punch or their own space in the track. If you turn down the synths volume you should get some more punch in your drums but you may need to compress them further and add a little side chaining on the synth to allow more space.

    If you think about digital sound like an absolute thing that only has equal amounts of room for each frequency turning something up doesn't actually have the desired effect of emphasizing it while keeping all other sounds at their level, it will actually squash something else out of the mix.

    Also you should never make a track without having a decent frequency analyzer on the master reinforcing what you are hearing. Pro Q is a really awesome plugin for that as it allows you to see the signal pre and post eq.
