Default Make or use a sample for air raid alarm

    Hi,

I want to add an great effect in my dj sets. It's the sound of a air raid alarm. Click HERE for an example.

My question is; should I make one myself or use a sample. Off course when I use a sample it would be static. But what i really like is to control the length and release of the sound. Were after the release, the sound does not stop immediately.

Hope someone got some experience and know how.

    Thanx in advanced.

    Cheers!

It would definitely be easier to control all the aspects of the sound if you made it yourself, although it might not sound as real as a sample would.

My sound design skills aren't great, but you could probably recreate that sound with a basic synth and modulate the pitch (maybe use layered saw waves?). That way you could control the attack, decay, release, etc.

@kmc310 Thanx for your reply. Your right, designing it would give me more power. Unfortunately my sound design skills are still in progress to learn ;-) So I will look for the right sample or a synthesizer preset.
If I find one I will post it in this topic.
