Default Can we map something that won't turn on an effect till it hits a certain range?

I've mapped the gater to a knob I have. Ideally I would like to move the knob and have it
    1)Turn the bank on
    2)Turn the effect on
3)Assign it to the third knob, the rate knob in the effect
    and the part I'm missing
    4) to only start once the rate is about half way up at the 1/8 since I don't use the lower values of the gater.

Seems like a modifier of some type would work.

Each of Twister's encoders can send up to two CC's so you can easily do #4 with a super knob 'start value' if you have a Twister.
Otherwise you can try setting a Modifier in to Fader-Relative mode to track and position with the last value (7) - place right before a Gater.

Than add a second modifier or even third... I'll see what I can do.

Btw, is it a knob with center de-tent?

Based off of a review of the product there doesn't seem to be a de-tent. I guess I could use a another button to turn the effect on and off once I move the knob to where I would be as well, the same way I'd do it on the s4.

I've actually seen the twister for sale here in Japan and it's on my wish list but I bought the korg nano for $30 just to learn on.

You can do all that^ with creative use of midi output loops... I'll work it out tonight and do a tutorial later

In simple terms you just use the output from the fx knob to "trigger" the effect's on button... And whatever else you need. Should be pretty easy.

Ok, this was really, really, really, easy.

use a midi loop utility like "LoopBe" to set up a midi output loop. Set the .tsi midi in/out ports to All.

add out> FX unit> knob three> controller range min (insert value from 0.0-1.0 to set where the "trigger" happens)> controller range max = 1.0 (this is the upper limit of the "trigger") and turn "blend" off.

add in> FX unit> effect on button> type "Hold"

Map these to an unused midi CC on an unused midi channel and your *cont. range min* will be the variable for how far you turn the knob before it "Holds" the button down. Use a value of 0.5 for the halfway point.

now, if you use any other FX on this unit and want them to behave normally just map a modifier to use as an "activation" button so that you can turn on the "auto-hold" since you can't really specify it to only apply to the Gater effect.

    Have Fun!
