Default Troubleshooting my S4 - Play and Cue Buttons Do Not Work

    Hey DJTT Community,

I'm having a few issues with my S4 and would like to see if anyone could help me to trouble shoot my controller.

The play and headphone cue buttons are not mapped to the play and headphone cue controls in Traktor anymore.

I've had the S4 for a few years and all has been well until now.

The only thing that I changed with my Traktor Preferences recently was imported a .tsi file for the Reloop RP8000 which I've since deleted.

Could anyone please help to assist me on how I can fix these issues? I have a couple gigs coming up this week and need to use my S4 for them.

    Thanks in advance!

    Default

I would start with the following:
    Open preferences/ controller manager
On the right handside under device setup 'open' the traktor s4 default file/tsi.
If you never modified it it should be empty anyway. If that's the case, delete it (edit/delete).
    Then re-import it (add/traktor s4/default).
Check the in port is set to Kontrol s4.

If your tsi default file has commands in the 1st place (you modified it) check that they're no additional commands added to your buttons that would have the override option box ticked. If that's the case, remove them (or untick the box).

The really strange thing is that the default mapping shouldn't be touched by any other tsi MIDI file (as it doesn't use midi). Are you sure you're not in midi mode?

try the above and let us know.

There’s also an almost hermetic community that exists in many areas of dance music, where serious hobbyists feed off each other’s expertise but barely connect to the industry – despite many of those involved actually working in it.
