PROBLEM WITH TAPE DELAY in traktor

Hi guys!
I made a 4 buttons mapping with different values for the tape delay on a launchpad mini.
I'm experiencing a problem within traktor.
The 4 buttons are working perfectly once they are started.
Let me explain.
When I open traktor the first time I'm using the tape delay instant grat fx I've mapped, it sounds weird as hell. like a tape running extremely slow and extremelly distorded. It sounds like this the first time I'm using the fx on each deck. Once it's like initiate after maybe 10 seconds. No more problem it's OK and the mapping is working flawlessly.
So I'm pretty sure about my mapping. It sounds a little like dubfire rattle snake fx but with 4 different possibilities with 4 different rates and filter settings.

I, think it's a problem in traktor.
Anyone ever experience this???

I think you are starting Traktor with the Tape Delay effect turned ON.

It's a buffer thing. Same is with Ramp, Stretch, TTFX and Reverse Grain.

I don't experience this this with the ramp delay...
I mapped the ramp delay with your settings and no problem here.

BTW no I don't start traktor with any fx turned on. I use the double FX STORE preset trick on each button (1 std mapping so when you engage the button it store and 1 on the release of the button (with invert) to store again with FX turned off)

Nice one! I got this in my F1 mapping.
My button basically kills all effects and flashes the state to all four FX Units. I did this to "refresh" my effect settings before exporting mappings.

Ramp delay works on a buffer too - it's just loading is not that much time consuming like a Tape delay. Thanks for checking this out!

I mapped them the other way of your ramp delay (the fastest rate on the left side). I like the way the ramp delay is slowest on left but found it was better the fastest for this application. 1 is on left and 4 the right
Also it is mapped to be instant fx and not having this transition time like the ramp delay (with the help of button 3)

1) D/W = 0.50
knob1 = 0.95
knob2 = 0.97
knob3 = 1.00
Unit ON = HOLD
button 2 = 0
button 3 = HOLD
fx mode = single
Effect 1 selector = TAPE DELAY

2) D/W = 0.45
knob1 = 0.80
knob2 = 0.97
knob3 = 0.80
Unit ON = HOLD
button 2 = 0
button 3 = HOLD
fx mode = single
Effect 1 selector = TAPE DELAY

3) D/W = 0.40
knob1 = 0.63
knob2 = 0.97
knob3 = 0.57
Unit ON = HOLD
button 2 = 0
button 3 = HOLD
fx mode = single
Effect 1 selector = TAPE DELAY

4) D/W = 0.35
knob1 = 0.40
knob2 = 0.97
knob3 = 0.30
Unit ON = HOLD
button 2 = 0
button 3 = HOLD
fx mode = single
Effect 1 selector = TAPE DELAY

THIS is not perfect it's a good start.
The first button is close to dubfire famous rattle snake fx and should be use on highs (you have to grab hi-hats generally half time in your grids)
the last is much more for bass and is usefull on the first rising downbeat after a breakdown for example.
Those 4 buttons are to be used mainly on their own.
But there's an intersting trick. You can press a button and just a few millisecones later a second one in whatever order. I like 4-1 4-3 2-1 3-2. It sounds like a tape that is slipping. REALLY COOL!!!

I like to make the ramp delay 4,3,2,1 and then when the delay is finished slowing press the 1 on my tape delay it combines 2 delay fx in a good way in my opinion

Hey Julian, just mapped it to my 3D - this sounds pretty good. I think that dry/wet levels are a bit high but other than that it's a solid mapping. Let's play some more until we find perfect settings

Yeah the D/W settings are not easy to find the sweet spot as I found it changes from track to track. (the way they are produced and the frequency Spectrum is used or jam packed)
songs that are full in terms of the freq Spectrum require a higher d/w level
so it was a compromise but I might drop those settings by 5 (45,40,35,30)
I started with 20 and it was OK for some songs but lacked too much for others!
